Matt
Dilley
After graduating from the University of Birmingham
with a music degree,
Matthew became a successful record producer, working with
some of the biggest
names in classical music such as Yehudi Menuhin, Lesley Garrett
and
Michael Nyman. He recorded over 120 classical CDs with the
Royal Philharmonic
Orchestra and numerous film soundtracks, most recently Hitchhiker’s
Guide to the
Galaxy.
As a media composer, his clients include Time
Warner, Granada, KPM, Prudential,
GSK and Pearson. No composer likes to be pigeon holed, preferring
instead to
emphasise their versatility. Hopefully this speaks for itself
when listening to the
clips on the media player. His greatest successes to date
have been in children’s
music for which he has a test bed at home in the form of a
son called Harry
and no… the choice of name was not influenced by Harry
and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs!
Matthew often performs on his own tracks, adding
realism whilst staying on budget. This is supplemented by
careful use of high quality sample libraries such as the Vienna
Symphonic Library. His main writing tools are Logic, Pro Tools
and Sibelius. As well as a home studio, he owns a mobile recording
facility capable of tracking up to 64 channels of audio based
on a Sadie H64 platform.
